DENTAL RESTORATIONS
As parents, you may recall your own visits to the dentist as children and the silver fillings used to repair damage caused by cavities. The practice of using silver amalgam fillings is less common now, and the standard is a tooth-colored filling.
Tooth-colored restorations are made from a special composite resin, tinted to match the original color of the tooth, and carefully molded to mimic the natural shape of the tooth. This type of restoration is nearly as hard and durable as the surface of the actual tooth.
